Perfectly Muted Fall Metallics: Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Metallics

Image
Left to right: Maybelline Smoked Silver and Molten Bronze Matte Metallic lipsticks.     Getting your fall and winter wardrobe amped up but still haven't figured out how to dress your face? Maybelline has taken some of the guess work out of the equation with their new line of muted and smoked out metallic lipsticks. Maybelline's Color Sensational Matte Metallics lipstick comes in 10 shades that are sure to compliment your winter attire. I had the pleasure of testing out two shades: Smoked Silver and Molten Bronze.    "Smoked Silver" is a cool dark purple grey moisturizing lipstick with silver reflect. It's perfect for your cool winter looks and pairs nicely with darker makeup. This shade is not very long lasting though and will need to be reapplied throughout the day, but the color payoff makes the effort worth it. Magic CONCEALER Wand! ☆ : Julep Cushion Complexion

Image
Julep's Cushion Complexion 5 in 1 Skin Perfector is much more than a concealer.        Normally when a company claims that their product had multiple uses, I roll my eyes. Any product has multiple uses if you're clever enough, but it's just not practical or convenient. So when I heard of the cushion complexion concealer wand I wasn't exactly confident that this would be "The One." I was shown the error of my ways when I got the opportunity to test out the Julep Cushion Complexion for myself.    The Cushion Complexion has multiple practical applications for applying makeup. The first way to use this product (and probably most common) is as a concealer.  After applying my eye makeup I used the wand to sharpen the outer edges of my eye makeup and to cover my dark circles under my eyes. This concealer is opaque and covers imperfections marvelously.  I only needed one layer in order to cover my dark spots and dark under eye area. Of course if ...

No7 Youthful Vitamin C Fresh Radiance Essence REVIEW & Demo

Image
Review: No7 Youthful Vitamin C Fresh Radiance Essence     I recently had the pleasure of testing out No7's Vitamin C essence.  Even though I know that an "essence" is one of the essential 10 steps of Korean skincare,  I have put off actually using one.  I've always thought that using a serum before my moisturizer should be adequate enough.  After trying this product out though,  I have changed my mind.     I have honestly seen a big difference in the quality of my facial skin after using this essence. Even though I haven't played out in the sun nearly as much as I normally do, I have managed to add sun damage to my face. A large part of that might have to do with my pregnancy hormones making me more sensitive to light (even though I swear I wear sunblock). But after using this product for three days I immediately noticed my skin looked smoother and felt more supple and less dry.  My sun spots were starting to l...

"Unicorn Glow" box by Wet n Wild: REVIEW & SWATCHES!!! I heard about the existance of this glorious treasure trove of beauty while skimming my daily beauty news emails...  It was immediately SOLD OUT, so I had to stalk it for a few weeks. My persistance paid off and I was able to snag this bundle of gorgeousness.  The Limited Edition "Unicorn Glow" box set by Wet n Wild  My mother had always compared my sisters and I to raccoons. Dark puffy circles around the eyes caused by allergies, and a love for anything SHINY. This box of magic is definitely shiny! Everything about it is appealing: the rainbow holographic outer packaging, the faux velvet-lined inner packing, and most of all, the products themselves! Besides shiny things, I'm almost always intrigued by any beauty products that have themes and are limited edition. The beauties inside the Unicorn Glow Box,     So I placed my order and the box arrived in about 10 days. Upon receiving my...

Step By Step: photos

Image
I was asked by one of my friends to do a makeup tutorial so that they can see how I do my makeup. It's kind of a lengthy process to go through step by step in words. I have yet to figure out how to record myself hands-free, so I decided to make a visual tutorial using photos.  I'll show and tell how I go from this: Fresh-faced, just after washing. to this: This is the final outcome.          The first step after washing your face is to use a toner. Good skincare is key to beautiful makeup. That way you don't have to spend as much time hiding and concealing every inch of your skin. You're just going to enhance and paint on the beautiful canvas that you already have. When using toner, make sure that you use upward strokes to remove any lingering dirt or oils that may have been left behind. Make sure that you follow up with a serum, lotion, or both (depending on your skin type).      After applying moistur...
