[Safe] Fun in The Sun: Beautiful Sunscreen

There are many beauty products on the market that boast sunscreen protection.

With all of the choices available, I thought that I would share the products that I've used most recently and help you decide if they're right for you or not.

Looking for a facial sunscreen with a matte finish? Check out Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen.

Facial sunscreen that doubles as a primer, leaving your face smooth as a baby's bottom? No you're not dreaming. Supergoop!'s Unseen Sunscreen goes on clear and dries to a matte finish while also smoothing out your skin, making it ready for foundation.
Of course, you can use this sunscreen without makeup. The blurring powers of this protection potion are on par with many expensive prestige primers. I find that the texture reminds me of Smashbox's Photo Finish primer. Since the finish is satiny smooth and matte, your skin is photo ready and fabulous.
I highly recommend this sunscreen for anyone looking for a decent amount of protection (SPF 40) without the heavy oily feeling of traditional sunscreens. [I forgot to mention that this sunscreen is also scent-free! Perfect for those with sensitive noses.] This sunscreen would work perfectly for all skin types. Mine is combination-oily and this sunscreen stays matte for hours.

Looking for a light moisturizer with a small amount of sun-ptotection and an amazing smell? Benefit's Triple Performing Facial Emulsion has you covered.
There are a lot of day time lotions out there with added SPF. Most of them have a minimal amount such as Benefit's Triple Performing Facial Emulsion with SPF 15. Ideally, the lower the SPF in your day lotion, the lighter it should weigh on your skin. You don't get a great amount of protection with this lotion, so it would be best to use when the weather isn't so nice and you need protection from rogue sun rays. You could also use it in conjunction with foundation containing SPF to get a greater protection.
I would recommend this lotion for winter weather usage or for those looking to attain a summer tan without taking the full brunt of the sun's forces. This day lotion has a satiny finish and would be best used for combination skin or dry skin (or oily skin if you use mattifying products over the top).

If you've just noticed the signs of aging creeping up on your face and need moisture, L'Oréal's Youth Code day lotion might be your savior.

Although this next product is discontinued, L'oreal has reworked this lotion into Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming SPF 30 Day Lotion. With an SPF of 30, L'Oréal Youth Code day lotion is a little more dense and tacky feeling than the previous lotion. It is very hydrating though, and so it's perfect for those who have dry skin. I have yet to try the new formula though, and I don't plan to since my skin is more oily and doesn't require a medium weight lotion.

Looking for a skin-nourishing, light coverage foundation with sunscreen protection built in? (e.l.f. foundation serum)

Sunscreen in foundation is not a new concept. Lightweight foundation that doubles as a serum is still pretty new on the US market. So when I found this amazing concoction on the brand's website, I immediately placed an order.
I've been trying to stick to a full skincare regimen which includes cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. The only problem that I run into is the amount of time that it takes me to go through all of these steps when I'm worried about running late for work. So when I find multitasking products that actually work, it's like finding the Holy Grail. That's exactly how I felt after using e.l.f.'s Foundation Serum for the first few times. I'm now on my third bottle and more than a little obsessed!
This foundation-meets-serum-meets-sunscreen has light foundation coverage (dries to satin finish) that is great for active days and when you want a low key no-makeup makeup look. The serum gives you just enough moisture to help out your dry patches and keep your skin feeling fresh. With SPF 25, this makeup miracle performs like a trooper during brief periods of sunshine (don't spend the day in the sun thinking this will cover you).
I would recommend this foundation serum for all skin types. If you are looking to even out your skin tone and get sun ptotection, this foundation is for you.

Second time's the charm? e.l.f.'s Beauty Shield is like a second edition formula of their original foundation serum.

I've been using e.l.f. Beauty Shield SPF 50 skin shield moisturizer for almost two months. I think that this formula would be great someone needing moisture (dry skin) and wanting great sun protection. Unfortunately for me, this formula does not work with my combination/oily skin.
Much like the foundation serum by the same brand, this skin shielding moisturizer provides a lightweight camouflage and evens out skintone. Also like the serum, this formula is very thin and lightweight. This is almost unheard of with such a high SPF. The finish though is quite dewy. My skin was left feeling almost wet or oily, but I'm pretty sure that's because my skin is well hydrated most of the time and I'm naturally oily.
My recommendations for this multitasking moisturizer would be for someone with dry and maybe even sunburnt skin. This moisturizer doesn't mess around when it comes to hydration, and it gives excellent sun protection. I'm kind of sad that this product didn't work out for me. Maybe it will work for you?

Using BB cream is a great way to apply sunscreen to your face. Missha's Perfect Cover B. B. Cream has an SPF of 45.

Korean beauty brands don't play when it comes to skincare. You can find sunscreen in a lot of K-beauty products. Most of the authentic BB (blemish balm) creams contain moderate to high amounts of SPF protection. Since Koreans value their skin's health and prefer a nice clean looking face than a highly made up face, sunscreen is very important. Sunscreen keeps the face from darkening and helps prevent age spots caused by the sun. BB cream with sunscreen in it helps to cover those age spots and uneven skintone, and it helps to prevent further damage.
Missha's M Perfect Cover B.B. Cream is a great multitasking product for those preferring easy beauty. With full coverage, this cream conceals dark spots and dark under eyes.  It also hides red patches and any stray blemishes that you may not have noticed. You don't need to use a heavy moisturizer since this BB cream is moisturizing by itself. This is great news for those who want to skip a step or two. You can also skip your foundation primer and sunscreen since this product acts as those as well.
I would recommend this BB cream to everyone! The finish isn't matte, but it isn't overly moist either. So all skin types should be able to enjoy this cream. Since it contains a high SPF, it's perfect for sunny days. You might have to do some research to find your shade, but it will all be worth it when you find your match.

I hope that no matter what choice you make, that you decide to make sunscreen a part of your skincare routine if it isn't already. Skin damage and melanoma (skin cancer) can be caused by the sun's harmful rays, and they are not something that you want to chance. The younger that you incorporate suncare into your regimen, the better. If you need convincing, there are plenty of other articles out there that can help shed some light on the harmful effects of the sun's rays.

Stay beautiful.
