His & Hers ◇ Emporio Armani "Stronger With You" & "Because It's You" ◇ Review

You might have to do a double take after encountering these fragrances by Emporio Armani (Armani Beauty).

♤His: Stronger With You ♤ & ♡ Hers: Because It's You ♡

   Armani Beauty recently released these two fragrances under the Emporio Amrani label which is a line that is geared towards a more youthful clientele than it's father brand Georgio Armani. "Stronger With You" is an eau de toilette pour homme and comes in a black box and has a dark gunmetal cap, while its counterpart "Because It's You" is an eau de parfum that comes in a white box with a lighter silver cap. It's clear just by looking at these two fragrances that they were made to compliment each other.

   Stronger With You is magnificently masculine. Everything from the packaging to the scent screams male. The box is dark and brooding but with a bit of charming gunmetal accent. The bottle is nice and heavy with a simple rounded square shape, and a regally handsome gunmetal lid that reminds me of the top of an English gentleman's cane. I'm clearly in lust with the men's fragrance, and I haven't even begun to describe the smell for you. 

   The scent of Stronger With You is a little tricky.  If you smell this eau de toilette in the bottle or on paper it comes off really strong and musky. However, once this handsome hunk of fragrant water hits the skin, it warms up and perfumes the air surrounding the body with an earthy freshness. According to the website, this fragrance has notes of sage, cardamom, pink peppercorn, violet leaves, smoky vanilla, and sugar-coated chestnut. I'm not exactly sure what each of those smells like, butt I can tell you what this cologne smells like to me. Right after spraying Stronger With You, there's an immediate clean fresh smell that reminds me of Irish Spring soap or a sweet smelling cedar chest. After the fragrance settles into the skin, the undertone of the spicy peppercorns starts to become more noticeable. All of these scents combine and create a dignified, but still masculine smell. The men's cologne is my favorite of these two fragrances. 

Emporio Armani: Because It's You eau de parfum

Because It's You

   Because It's You is a very warm and sweet smelling perfume in not so feminine packaging. The box it comes in is the opposite of its male counterpart in that it's bright and the silver accent is more shiny. Then you get to the bottle which is almost the exact same as Stronger With You except for the words on the label and the color of the lid. I would probably like this fragrance even more if the bottle wasn't as masculine as the fragrance for him. I would have suggested a more feminine shape for the bottle. Maybe just less of a squared top would improve the bottle. I do appreciate the bright silver cap which is the polar opposite of the dark gunmetal. It reminds me of dainty bright silver stud earrings. 

   The smell mostly makes up for the masculine bottle by being very sweet and sensual. According to the website, Because It's You incorporates the scents of raspberry, neroli, rose absolute, vanilla, and musk. Out of all of those scents, raspberry takes over immediately after spraying this perfume. When it hits the skin, the fragrance starts to warm up with the vanilla peeking out from raspberry's cloaking scent. Then as the fragrance starts to really settle, the sweet warmth becomes more floral and almost sharp because of the musk. The smell is long-lasting and sticks around for quite a while if it happens to get on your clothing. I had people in the checkout line at the grocery store telling me that I smelled really nice. Then outside later that same night, I was once again told thatI smelled good. Where the men's fragrance is clean and soft, this women's fragrance is very sweet and strong. I still like this perfume, but it comes in second place only because I would expect a more feminine shaped bottle for a women's fragrance. 

Yin & Yang. His & Hers. Stronger With You & Because It's You. 

   Packaging aside, these two fragrances really do compliment each other by being opposites.  Both smells have a dignified feel to them, so they fit well side by side. I would recommend sampling these fragrances at Sephora before purchasing just because these fragrances have strong personalities, and scent tends to be something that is not appreciated universally.  I definitely would purchase the men's fragrance in the future for my boyfriend, but I would probably pass up purchasing the women's version in a full sized container (maybe as a roller ball or purse spray).
