Magic CONCEALER Wand! ☆ : Julep Cushion Complexion

Julep's Cushion Complexion 5 in 1 Skin Perfector is much more than a concealer.

Normally when a company claims that their product had multiple uses, I roll my eyes. Any product has multiple uses if you're clever enough, but it's just not practical or convenient. So when I heard of the cushion complexion concealer wand I wasn't exactly confident that this would be "The One." I was shown the error of my ways when I got the opportunity to test out the Julep Cushion Complexion for myself.
The Cushion Complexion has multiple practical applications for applying makeup. The first way to use this product (and probably most common) is as a concealer.  After applying my eye makeup I used the wand to sharpen the outer edges of my eye makeup and to cover my dark circles under my eyes. This concealer is opaque and covers imperfections marvelously.  I only needed one layer in order to cover my dark spots and dark under eye area. Of course if you want to really hide your imperfections and make it look like they never existed,  two layers will do the job. Make sure to pat the edges of the concealer so that it blends in smoothly with the rest of your face.
I used Julep's Cushion Complexion to help define the outer corner and bottom edge of this eye look.
The next way that I used the Cushion Complexion wand was as matte highlighter. I used a shade that was about one and a half shades lighter than my natural skin to dab onto the high points of my face.  I applied the product to my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, middle of my forehead, and my cupid's bow. I then used my finger to blur the edges into my makeup and to give my face that rejuvenated look.
Another way to use this product would be the opposite of the last, as a contour product. I don't have a shade that's about two shades darker than my skin, but if I did, I could apply it to the areas of my face that want to minimize for a naturally contoured look. These areas would be the hollows of the cheeks,  the sides of my nose, the edges of my jawline, and the corners of my forehead. If I get the chance to get a darker shade, I'll have to post an update.

What I like the most about Julep's Cushion Complexion is the packaging in which the product is housed.  The stick is sturdy and thick so that it won't get crushed or pop open when I have it in my purse while I'm out and about. Not only is it sturdy, but it's convenient as well. The cushion tip is perfect for applying the product directly to the face in small amounts. Basically it's like drawing on your face.  And then you only have to tap the edges with a finger to blend it into the skin.
What I don't really like, but it might jyst be that in not used to it,  is just how matte and dry the formula of the concealer actually dries down to.  I feel like you need to rush the application and perfection of this product so that it doesn't dry down too quickly and streak if you need to apply a second layer.  If you have dry skin you may want to consider making sure that you use a moisturizer on your skin before using the cushion complexion. This is especially important on the delicate skin underneath the eyes.  You don't want your under eye are too be too dry because this will emphasise any cracks or wrinkles that you have in this area.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Julep Cushion Complexion. It truly does have more than one use, it's really convenient,  and it can withstand a beating. I would recommend this product too anyone looking to help the dull/dark areas of their skin look more youthful and brilliant and whom may be on the go constantly.  I'd give it a 4 of 5 stars.  I received these products free for sampling/reviewing purposes from Crowdtap and Julep .  All opinions are mine and I do not receive payment for my review.
